#BreakingNews : ZAKULA Challenge the Streaming Era: New Album ‘Den Evige Lengsel’ Announced as a Single 41-Minute Epic

-

In an era dominated by bite-sized clips, 15-second soundbites, and algorithm-driven playlists, Athenian extreme metal collective ZAKULA are making a bold, uncompromising statement. The band has announced their third full-length album, Den Evige Lengsel, set to drop on 17 November 2026 — and it consists of just one single, continuous track running 41 minutes and 50 seconds.

No single edits. No filler tracks. No skip buttons.

A Darker, Single-Composition Vision

Formed in Athens in 2017 by veterans of the Greek metal scene, ZAKULA have built a reputation for shifting fluidly between black, death, thrash, and progressive metal. Following their self-titled debut in 2021 and 2024’s White Forest Reign Lullabies, Den Evige Lengsel sees the band steering their genre-defying sound into a much darker, cohesive, and hyper-focused direction.

Rather than relying on traditional song structures orverse-chorus logic, the album develops organically as one unified work. Even on the physical vinyl edition — which naturally requires a flip halfway through — the music is crafted to preserve the narrative weight of a single uninterrupted composition.

Lyrically, the piece paints a dense, atmospheric tapestry, sung mostly in English before building to a powerful climax delivered entirely in Greek.

Crafted at Paranoika Studios

Written entirely by guitarist Socos, Den Evige Lengsel was also recorded, mixed, and mastered by him at paranoika studios in Athens. The album features cover photography and creative direction by Angelos Socos.
